It amazes me how many Soundcloud artists have had songs posted for months and have not recieved a single play or comment, if this is you don't get discouraged, Soundcloud takes a very specific type of attention to receive much deserved feedback. If you follow a couple simple steps I guarantee you will get more Soundcloud plays TODAY!
1. Follow the right people.
Most if not every Soundcloud account I've seen is following Skrillex. Skrillex does not respond to fanmail or follow anyone back. So it's not in ANYONE's best interest to follow Skrillex. Follow users who are online often, and who follow back.
2. Unfollow the wrong people.
There are a lot of artists who have the wrong idea about who they are and what Soundcloud is about, these people don't follow you back (*cough Skrillex), do yourself a favor and unfollow these people promptly since you have a limit of 2,000 people you can follow.
3. Leave personal comments regularly to show that you're genuinely interested in what someone else is posting.
4. Don't share your songs with the most popular pages because so many people share songs on these pages it's actually less likely that your song will be seen. Share your songs on relevant pages that are updated often, but still niche, and surprisingly moderated pages are probably the best way to get positive feedback.
5. Stay current, and check back often, the users that are 'online' show up highest in a persons followers and following.
If you follow these five simple rules I guarantee you will increase your userbase tenfold.
